Tools of Cinematography Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Tools of Cinematography - Essay Example This scene slowly immerses the audience into the alien landscape. The 3D effect used by Cameron in this portion of the movie is remarkable. The portrayal of Pandora’s rainforest is simply awesome. The mood at this point is light, no heavy drama. The lighting used by the cinematographer in this scene is suitable to the mood that the director wants to evoke. It draws forth a very naturalistic look with images of the sun rays piercing through the lush Pandora jungle. The cinematographer could have chosen an image of a dark jungle but he opted to choose a jungle showing all its glory in the light of day. The mood of Jake here is one of being hopeful. It is in this part of the movie where Neyteri tells Jake â€Å"You must choose your own Ikran and he must choose you†¦when you are ready.† Jake seems to be looking forward to the day when he will be able to ride his very own Ikran and travel with it through the vast forests of the Na’vi land. The excitement that Jak e feels is somehow reflected in the way Cameron portrayed the swiftness and velocity of Neyteri’s ride on Ikran. I think that by watching Neyteri ride Ikran, Jake was quite impressed because it gave him a liberating feeling. He probably is imagining already how it would feel to ride his own Ikran in the future. This scene gives the audience a hint of the imminent romance that will happen between Jake and Neyteri. It depicts Jake’s amusement at the awesome world of the Na’vis. One can see that Jake is amazed at how Neyteri rides Ikran and how the Ikran seem to be beholden to Neyteri. The ride of Neyteri takes the movie audience to at trip at the brilliantly colored alien world of Pandora.

The cathedral builders using their own ingenuity, expertise, and limited resources were able to defy the laws of gravity and time. (Icher 30) There were two main types of architecture during the middle ages, the Romanesque style and the Gothic style. The Romanesque period took place approximately between 1096 and 1270 (the eleventh and twelfth centuries) and the Gothic period took place approximately between 1150 and 1450 (the thirteenth through the fifteenth centuries) (Bersson 383). Evidence of both styles of architecture emerged throughout Europe. The political landscape had changed and the Christian church provided a measure of unity throughout the centuries of this medieval era (Stalley 13). The Romanesque period was a time when the interest in religion intensified. The church was a place that all people could belong to regardless of their status. It was during these times that big churches called cathedrals began to emerge. The age of the Crusades took place emphasizing the need for places of worship and a place for the community to gather together. People sought the churches not only to see the relics housed in the church brought back from the Holy Lands by the Crusades, but also to seek redemption as well. This influx of seekers brought in money to help the community pay for the churches. This allowed for the emergence of new towns in addition to increased exchange ... ...brams, 1998. Print. Sample details Pages: 1 Words: 428 Downloads: 8 Date added: 2019/03/20 Category Society Essay Level High school Topics: Gun Violence Essay Did you like this example? My name is Reid, and I go to Grace Church School. I am writing to you on the matters of stopping animal cruelty and gun violence. The number of deaths from shootings has risen dramatically over the past few years. Animal cruelty is still a problem in the United States. In four states the animal cruelty punishments apply only if the offender is accused more than once. This has to change. We need to stop the problems of gun violence and animal cruelty before they get even worse. Gun violence in the U.S.A. is on the rise. A study shown in 2012 shows that an assault in the US is triple as likely to involve guns as other countries such as Canada, Spain, and the UK. Every day 96 Americans are killed by guns, and many more are harmed. Grace Church School has had a firsthand experience from gun violence, a teacher was killed in a shooting at the high school. There should be stricter laws on the right to bear arms. Some examples could be: Checking history for signs of depression, not giving guns to those who are mentally unstable, raising the gun age from 18 to 21, a restriction on gun magazines that are too big. The last one not directly stop an attack, but would reduce the fatalities in the case of attack. I ask you to consider these. Gun violence is a major issue in America. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "The Issues of Gun Violence and Animal Cruelty in America and How to Solve Them" essay for you Create order Another major issue in this country is animal abuse. The states (Ohio, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, and Iowa) have laws that only punish subsequent offenders. Another issue is dog fighting. It is illegal, and rightfully so, but there are some problems in the laws. In Hawaii and Montana there is no punishment to be a spectator. Without spectators the people that dog fight would go bankrupt thus, ending dog fighting. We need to fix the laws in Ohio, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, and Iowa to target first time offenders, and we also need to change the laws in Montana and Hawaii to make watching a dog fight illegal. Gun violence and animal cruelty are two important issues that this country should tackle. To prevent gun violence, taking new safety measures on who receives guns would be helpful, as would keep a limit on the magazine size. Animal cruelty can be prevented by all states convicting an offender regardless of if it his or her first time, and by banning the watch of dog fights. Animal cruelty and gun violence are tearing the world apart, but you have the power to put it back together.
